VYSO Presents: Long, Long Ago
Journey to the mists of the distant past through landscapes imagined and reimagined in music, as ancient history blurs into legend and folklore. Each piece in this program evokes a world lost to time, from centuries-old Slavic folklore in Liadov’s mischievous Kikimora, classical myth in Sibelius’ The Dryad, the heady final days of Pompeii in Ticheli’s Vesuvius, stone-age lore in Rӓisӓnen’s Kalalle, and Renaissance courtly grace in Ravel’s Pavane pour une Infante Défunte and Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances.
Join VYSO as we reawaken these forgotten worlds in an afternoon of entrancing music, 3pm Sunday 6th September at Kensington Town Hall.
Early bird tickets (Standard and Concession) available until Sunday 30th August 11:59pm. Discount applied at checkout.
