VYSO presents Debut, an afternoon celebrating different conductors, new pieces, and having fun through music. Come along to support our debut conductors!

Experience beloved compositions from games both retro and brand new. Classic favourites from Kingdom Hearts, The Legend of Zelda and Skyrim all the way to the premiere of an original composition for a game project being developed right here in Melbourne.

The VYSO are joining forces with the Bluestone Ensemble for an ambitious mission of rehearsing and performing Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony in (almost) a single day! The symphony is an emotional rollercoaster, including all emotions from pride, joy and elation to utter despair and heart-wrenching sorrow.

Come hear tunes from some of your favourite movies, musicals, cartoons, ballets, and symphonies.

The VYSO present a collection of song-like pieces, from opera to pieces inspired by folk songs. Come along and feel the emotions without the need for any words.

If you’re looking for a community orchestra with a fresh take on community music, we’re holding an open rehearsal and you’re welcome to play with us to see what we’re like!

Write your own rules, then break ’em. Rebel against normal, against platitudes, against mediocrity. Agitate. In this concert, we play the music that broke new ground, pissed off the Establishment and allowed the new generation emerge.

You are a warrior, wielding a bloodied sword and a scarred flag, marching resolutely towards your enemy. You will fight, and you will win. We hit you with epic orchestral moments from World of Warcraft and a suite from epic video games. There’s also a good dose of Beethoven for you purists out there.

The vigour and frivolity of youthful innocence vs the heartache, passion and grit of experience. A 60 minute emotional marathon of raw energy.
