VYSO presents Video Game Symphony, a concert celebrating the epic soundtracks that bring our favourite digital worlds to life!
Experience beloved compositions from games both retro and brand new. Classic favourites from Kingdom Hearts, The Legend of Zelda and Skyrim all the way to the premiere of an original composition for a game project being developed right here in Melbourne. An unmissable afternoon for gaming and music fans alike!
Come join the VYSO at Fitzroy Town Hall on Sunday, 14 September at 3pm. Featuring a Pre-show from Skull Kid Ensemble, starting at 2:20pm.
Skull Kid Ensemble are an independent chamber group all about celebrating video games through music - many of whom are our very own VYSO members. They arrange their own music from iconic game themes into medleys and perform them live as a mixed wind sextet. After winning the Back Pocket Talent Show in 2022 and performing to a packed house at PAX in 2023 and 2024, we are excited to announce they shall be joining us for VYSO’s Video Games in Symphony for the premiere of a new arrangement.
Donations towards this project will be used to cover the costs of collaborating with the various artists and ensembles. Donations will go towards the artistic fees of the conductors, choir and soloists, along with contributing to the expense of commissioning arrangements from the two local composers involved in the project. All donations for this project will help ensure that our vision for the concert is achieved, allowing us to showcase the work of these talented groups and artists in front of a live audience.
